Technology is transforming how we connect and that includes how deaf people access communication in everyday life. SignLive (soon to be Convo), a deaf-owned organisation, is leading that change across the UK by making British Sign Language (BSL) access faster, easier, and right where it’s needed most.

Previously known as SignLive, Convo is a deaf-led global service now rolling out its trusted solution to public spaces across the country. With over 16 years of experience and operations in five countries, Convo’s mission is simple: to make conversations easy, inclusive, and shaped by deaf people’s needs.

At the heart of this is a simple but powerful tool: a QR code. Already in use across the UK in NHS, transport hubs, local councils, retail settings and more, it allows deaf users to scan with their phone and connect directly to a qualified BSL interpreter – with no apps, no waiting, and no fuss. It’s designed for real life: for conversations at reception desks, at ticket counters, or when asking for help.

For organisations, the benefits are clear. The QR code requires almost no setup, no training for staff, and fits into any space – from GP surgeries and job centres to high street shops and railway stations. Pricing is flexible and can align with existing public sector budgets and accessibility frameworks.
