A group of 14 women have stripped down to show their colostomy bags to raise awareness for charity Purple Wings.
The women, aged 20 to 53, stepped out in their underwear to pose for a charity calendar, celebrating people with stomas.
The charity, Purple Wings, has produced calendars since 2016 when their first effort went viral online. This is now the fifth calendar the charity’s founder, Lauren Henderson, has created.
The charity helps people with a stoma regain confidence and self esteem.
The idea is a twist on the story of the Calendar Girls – a group of women who posed naked to raise money for cancer. Lauren was inspired to start the charity after having a stoma herself.
She wanted to create the calendar to give other people a chance to feel and look glamorous with their colostomy bags.
The women posed by a lake in Redditch for each month of the year, celebrating their own journey with their stoma, and raising awareness of stomas.
