WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE?

Jeremy Clarkson is hosting another exciting series of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and they are looking for contestants who can make it all the way to £1Million!

Stellify Media has won a bumper order from ITV across its Millionaire franchise, with an extended run of Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

ITV has commissioned 19 x 60 episodes of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, including 7 celebrity specials, continuing the show’s successful run on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player. Matthew Worthy, Co-CEO Stellify Media, said: “It is an honour to produce Millionaire for ITV.”

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is recorded at the accessible Dock 10 studios in Salford. The production team on WWTBAM are determined that their contestants should represent the British population including contestants with disabilities. In the past they’ve made reasonable adjustments to accommodate contestants with disabilities and the Millionaire team discuss reasonable adjustments with participants throughout the selection process to ensure they are comfortable and are treated fairly from a gameplay/quiz perspective.

An example of a reasonable adjustment that has been implemented in the past was changing the fastest finger first round to be inclusive of a blind contestant that had been selected for the programme. Instead of displaying the fastest finger first question on a screen in addition to being read aloud, which would advantage the five sighted contestants, the question and four answers was not displayed on a screen at all but repeated multiple times by the host for all contestants. In addition, the protocol for Phone A Friend was changed so that the host read out the question and four options instead of the blind contestant.

In terms of general contestant welfare, all contestants have an informed consent welfare chat with a senior member of the casting team prior to filming and an appointment with one of the production’s mental health advisors.
