The countdown is on to Disability Expo

Europe’s largest event for Disabled People by Disabled People, is almost upon us. Disability Expo is a one-of-a-kind experience that brings together a vibrant community of individuals, organisations, and innovators committed to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities.

As a media partner, Enable Magazine is here to keep you up to date with what to expect from the event.

Sponsored by Amazon, in the EmployAble zone you can discover the latest products and software that can assist you in your work, connect with DEI leads from inclusive companies and attend talks on flexible working, selling your skills, building your career and more.

Jurgen Donaldson, Disability Inclusion Program Manager at Amazon says: “Amazon is committed to showcasing opportunities available to disabled people, we work hard to be an accessible employer for anyone who wants to build their career. This event is a great way for us to demonstrate our commitment to the community as we strive to be the Earth’s best employer.”

People’s Panel

The People’s Panel is a forum-style theatre where pressing issues and key topics will be discussed by influential and knowledgeable panellists, including Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Samantha Renke, Mik Scarlet, Jordan Jarrett-Bryan and many more.

Delegates are encouraged to shape the discussions had on these panels by submitting questions online ahead of the event. Fill in this short form to have your say.

Centre Stage

The main stage will deliver a vast range of entertaining and inclusive content. Including comedy, dance, music, cooking and fashion. As well as a showcase of successful disabled inventors, supported by Innovate UK, who will share their experiences.

Gaming Zone

Powered by Adapt-IT, the Gaming Zone allows delegates to trial the latest assistive gaming technology, with multiple gaming areas to support differing levels and types of disability. Enter competitions, watch Twitch streamers and test your skills against the best retro games or modern titles. Delegates can now pre-book a gaming slot on the website.

Mobility MOT

Access Your Life in collaboration with Celtic Rehab & Therapy will be offering wheelchair users a free five-point check on their stand at the event. Along with the opportunity to replace, repair, or modify certain parts for an additional cost. Although there will be a few walk-up slots available we recommend pre-booking your MOT on their website.

The Have-A-Go Zone, sponsored by JD Group and in partnership with the charity Phab will be full of fun and inclusive activities for everyone to try. Including recently confirmed dance workshops with Kate Stanforth and Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures.
