Channel 4 is looking for applications from diverse candidates for their Production Training Scheme 2021

Channel 4’s Production Training Scheme 2021 has opened for applications to learn and develop skills pertinent to the TV industry.

The scheme is for new entrants to the TV industry or those with less than three-months experience.

CAREER CHANGE

Committed to promoting inclusion and access to the media, Channel 4 is looking for applications from disabled people, BAME backgrounds, socially disadvantaged and underrepresented members of society.

The scheme is aimed at those aged 18 and over, with great encouragement of applications from older applicants who might be looking to change career paths.

Deadlines for applications to the scheme are next Friday, 29 January 2021; apply here.

The Production Training Scheme 2021 will be offering paid places at one of the UK’s leading independent production companies for 12 months.

At present opportunities are available across the UK in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Belfast, Cardiff, North Wales and Glasgow.

THE SCHEME

There are 14 places as a Trainee Researcher and one as a Script Editor, with a wage of £22,000.

Successful candidates will spend a week in TV Boot Camp to get things underway. Here, you’ll hear from graduates of the scheme and Commissioning Editors who’ll give you the lowdown on what it takes to succeed.

Then your career in TV starts for real at your production company – but we’ll still see you once a month for training to help your further your career.

The scheme will begin in May 2021.
