Wheelchair Dance at Disney!

WDSA logoThe Wheelchair Dance Sport Association (UK) (WDSA (UK)) is proud to announce a partnership with The International Festival of Dance and Performing Arts (IFDPA) at Disneyland Paris. As part of the weekend of event, running from 4th October to 7th October 2013, a Wheelchair Dance Sport Competition will take place which will be a Ballroom standard competition open to Debutantes and Amateur athletes. The event will also have a number of other dance forms which will be open to a wide range of disabled people that would like to be involved.

The International Festival of Dance and Performing Arts at Disneyland Paris weekend is offering dance schools, individual dancers and singers and performing arts schools the experience of a lifetime. Get the full IFDPA experience when you compete in our 2013 Dance & Singing championships, Perform an additional “Spotlightz” showcase performance on the IFDPA stage, Experience Disney Performing Arts workshops provided by Disney professionals, Take Part in the IFDPA opening spectacular with special Disney guests, Enjoy 3 days entrance to the two Disneyland Paris Parks, Apply as a group to perform on stage in a Disneyland Park as part of Disney Performing Arts Onstage, and to round off a truly memorable weekend take part in Disney Performing Arts Pre-Parade in the Disneyland Park

This magical event is open to all the community whether you would want to join the Wheelchair Dance Sport competition or be involved in other dance areas this partnership will start the process of ensuring that anyone that wants to dance can and do it in style at Disneyland Paris.

The Wheelchair Dance Sport Association (UK) was established in 2006 as the National Governing Body for wheelchair dance sport and wheelchair dancing within the UK, for those who would otherwise be excluded from dancing.  The aim of the WDSA (UK) is to promote and develop wheelchair dancing as a sport and leisure activity across the country and to raise the standard of coaching and competition in the UK and internationally at all levels.  Wheelchair Dance Sport is accessible to anyone with no boundaries in terms of age limit or level of ability.

International Festival of Dance and performing Arts is part of the Take Us 2 The Magic Ltd which is involved in the organisation and management of a broad range of events in Europe and the United Kingdom specialising in Disneyland Paris and, more recently, Alton Towers Resort.
