Samantha Cameron puts the kettle on for Contact a Family

Contact A Family logoSamantha Cameron hosted breakfast for professional working mothers of disabled children at Downing Street this week, on Monday 14th October, and helped launch charity Contact a Family’s new ambassador programme.

Over tea and coffee Mrs Cameron and the group of 12 high flying mums talked about family life with a disabled child, their new role as Contact a Family’s founding ambassadors and the ambassadors programme to help the charity reach even more families with its life-changing information, support and advice.

The ambassador programme developed by Contact a Family – the only UK charity that supports families with disabled children regardless of their disability – gives new and existing supporters of the charity the opportunity to invest in the future of families with disabled children. By pledging their long term financial support, ambassadors will be invited to learn more about the vital work Contact a Family carries out and see the impact their contribution makes.

Samantha Cameron said: “Contact a Family gives invaluable help and advice to families with disabled children.

“I’m delighted to help launch its ambassador programme which will ensure Contact a Family has the long term support it needs to continue its important work with families across the UK.”

Srabani Sen, Chief Executive of Contact a Family says: “We are thrilled that Samantha Cameron has helped launch our ambassador programme this morning. More and more families with disabled children are coming to us each year for advice and information they find difficult to find elsewhere. The money raised through our ambassador programme will have a huge impact on our work by enabling us to broaden and strengthen our essential services and to offer even more families who care for disabled children high quality support and advice.”

Contact a Family provides vital advice and information for parents through a range of services including a free helpline: 0808 808 3555. For more information about Contact a Family and its Ambassador Programme please visit
