Leuchie on Film

leuchie houseLeuchie House guests and staff are the stars of a new short film by an award-winning production company. The film, showing a taster of life at Leuchie, is featured on Leuchie House’s website, www.leuchiehouse.org.uk.

Leuchie House, an independent charity offering caring respite breaks to people and their carers with long-term conditions, was gifted the funding for the film by  local supporters, Prentice Coaches of Haddington.

Raw Film Productions, who are Bafta Scotland award winners and based at nearby Queen Margaret University, created the five-minute film after spending time with the guests and staff at Leuchie – the only venue in Scotland offering respite breaks in a non-clinical country house setting but with 24-hour expert nursing care.

Mairi O’Keefe, the CEO at Leuchie, said: “It is wonderful to see our guests and staff on screen in such a natural way, showing viewers what it is like to stay at Leuchie. It can be daunting for people who are thinking about trying respite care for the first time – and their carers – so we are hoping the film will help alleviate their worries.”

Ross Prentice, Managing Director of Prentice Coaches, said: “Having supported Leuchie House with various events over the last few years we wanted to help further. When the idea of a film to show prospective guests what Leuchie could offer them was suggested I felt it was a fitting project to get involved with.

“I had used RAW Film Productions for our own publicity video and knew the passion they had for film making. Having seen the finished film I am extremely proud to have been involved and look forward to many more years supporting Mairi and all the great staff at Leuchie.”
