Children from Chadsgrove School and Specialist Sports College have helped AKW, the market leader in independent living solutions, celebrate its 25th anniversary at Naidex 2013, the UK’s largest healthcare and disability exhibition.
To help mark the company’s 25th anniversary year, children from the school in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, took part in a ‘birthday party’ on the final day of Naidex 2013. This included a ‘Cake Off’ challenge for the children to test their cake decorating skills and a special performance where the musically-talented ‘Chadsgrove Buskers’ were able to sing a selection of their favourite songs.
Paul Massey, Group CEO of AKW, commented: “We were delighted to invite children from Chadsgrove School and Specialist Sports College to our 25th birthday party at Naidex 2013. We are really proud of what we have achieved as a company over the last 25 years, developing essential independent living solutions for the home, and this was an exciting opportunity to share this moment with pupils from Chadsgrove School and Specialist Sports College.
“We have partnered with the school on a number of important projects over the last few years, including the official opening of their new cycling path by Jon-Allan Butterworth, a para-cycling athlete that we sponsored last year who went on to win three silvers at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The children did a fantastic job of decorating a selection of birthday cupcakes in our new Liberty kitchen and then completed the party for us with a fabulous rendition of various songs. A great day was had by all, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with this exemplary school.”
Liz Morgan, assistant head teacher of Chadsgrove School and Specialist Sports College, added: “Never ones to pass up an opportunity to have a good time, the children were thrilled to be able to attend AKW’s 25th birthday party. The stand looked suitably celebratory, decorated with huge balloons, while a face painter was available to transform the children’s faces into their favourite animals. We have developed an excellent relationship with AKW, and will continue to celebrate how the company has helped change the way independent living solutions are perceived, through stylish products that enhance accessibility and make a real difference to people’s day-to-day lives.”
