Katie Piper has called out Halloween make-up for being “distasteful and offensive” as hundreds of gore fans take to social media to show off fake scar scars and injuries.
In a post to her own Instagram, the 33 year old star blasted so called ‘gore-overs’.
“It’s distasteful and offensive to make temporary burns, scars and disfigurements on someone’s face for Halloween,” wrote Katie. “Some of us have these differences all year round. When did Halloween turn into people imitating accident victims?”
Katie, who now works as a model and TV presenter, was permanently scarred in 2008 when her ex-boyfriend Daniel Lynch hired someone to throw acid on her face in a horrific attack.
Ten years on, Katie still spends regular stints in hospital having reconstructive surgery. So far the mother-of-one has had a total of 300 surgical procedures.
In the post to her 385,000 followers, Katie added that although she enjoys Halloween, she didn’t want to see anyone dress up “as someone that has had trauma happen to them.”

Katie’s outburst comes after TOWIE star Amber Dowding was forced to apologise to fans after she faced backlash against her Halloween costume
“Even if you don’t care about other people’s feelings how about remembering non of us are immune and it could be you one day with those injuries no Halloween make up needed,” wrote Katie.
“Pumpkins, witches, cats, bats whatever but not someone who has been seriously injured please.”
