The Lake District Calvert Trust launches Photography Competition for chance to win multi-activity adventure break

Calvert Trust 2013

The Lake District Calvert Trust, a charity that provides residential outdoor activity holidays for people with disabilities, is delighted to announce the launch of the #candocalvert Photography Competition 2015.   Their aim is to find the image that best captures their belief “It’s what you can do that counts”

Launching on 1st April 2015 and running for a period of 4 months, each month the charity will be looking to receive entries that demonstrate “challenging disability through outdoor adventure” and a specific theme, which changes every month through the course of the competition.

Sean Day, Centre Director said “We want as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to see that everyone can be encouraged to reach their full potential whatever their level of ability.   We believe that by inviting entries into our competition and then using the power of social media to share these truly inspirational images, we can raise awareness of what people with disabilities are capable of.”

The winning image for each of the 4 months will receive a £100 gift voucher for George Fisher and be entered into the final judging round.   The overall best image will be chosen by the judging panel and will win a multi-activity adventure break for up to 4 people (one member of the group must have a disability) at their dedicated residential centre above the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake.

Andy Airey, Director at George Fisher said “We are delighted to be able to support this campaign because we understand how outdoor activities can be inspirational and appreciate the difference the Calvert Trust makes to many peoples’ lives”

Calvert Trust Lake DistrictEntries to the competition can be submitted via social media using the tag #candocalvert, or by emailing the Lake District Calvert Trust direct.   The theme for April is “Achievement” and photographs can be of a group or an individual, be of any outdoor activity and be taken in any location.
