Complete was among care providers to successfully tender for a two-year contract, effective from 1 May 2013, to provide continuing care for paediatric patients up to the age of 18 with long-term ventilation needs.
The contract, which includes an option for an extension of up to two years, was awarded by the Midlands and East Specialised Commissioning Group (SCG) on behalf of the East Midlands SCG, which covers Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland. SCGs commission specialised services for small numbers of patients affected by uncommon conditions.
Complete specialises in providing tailored care packages adults and children with spinal or brain injuries and other disabling conditions, including cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy, which enable clients to lead independent lives at home. It has particular expertise in working with ventilator-dependent clients.
Sally Yandle, Managing Director at The Complete Group, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and look forward to working in partnership with clinicians who support children with respiratory diseases.
“We will also be working closely with commissioners, in order to provide the highest quality care to children and young people with complex conditions, and their families, so that they can all enjoy the best possible quality of life.”
Complete’s approach to complex care provision has won it a place in the finals of the HealthInvestor Awards 2013, in the Complex Care Provider category, in June. Also in June, the Complete team that won the Care Team category in the Great North East Care Awards will be a finalist in the Great British Care Awards.
