Talent Identification Weekend for swimmers with a disability

Have you, or someone you know, been inspired by the fantastic achievements in the pool at the London 2012 Paralympic Games and would now like to get involved in Disability Swimming?British Swimming is running a talent identification weekend with events taking place throughout England, Scotland and Wales on 11th and 12th May. Why not come along to a session and take the first steps to your own competitive success in the future.

To be eligible the swimmer needs to be able to swim at least 25 metres and be keen to take part in competitive disability swimming.  They should be in one of the disability groups listed below also be new to disability swimming, i.e. not been through a talent assessment session previously or been classified.

Disability Groups for attendance criteria

  •        Physical: Cerebral Palsy, Amputee, Spinal injuries, Dwarfism, Polio, Spina bifida, Multiple sclerosis, Arthrogryposis
  •        Visual impairment
  •        Intellectual: IQ of below 75
