St Mary’s University College, Twickenham

Set within a beautiful self-contained campus, just 30 minutes from central London, St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes from Primary Education to Sport Science.

St Mary’s has strong sporting links and this summer hosted athletes from 10 nations as part of their pre-Games training camps ahead of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. A number of former students and current athletes also competed for team GB including double Gold medallist Mo Farah and four times Paralympic Gold medallist David Weir.

Paralympic Gold medallist David Weir regularly trains in the University College’s Centre for Health Applied Sport and Exercise Science (CHASES), including monitored training sessions on the treadmill in the laboratory and strength and conditioning sessions in the new sports centre. The CHASES team is able to offer the same services to other wheelchair users and welcomes any individuals or teams to use the services, from those new to sport and exercise, through to those aiming for Olympic Gold.
