Spring into action with a new car on the Motability Scheme

motabilityAs the weather begins to warm up and the sun peeks through the clouds, it’s the perfect time to get out and explore what the country has to offer and, with the Motability Scheme, disabled people can do just that.

The latest price list features over 2,000 cars from more than 30 manufacturers, including around 450 with no Advance Payment. There are over 600 automatic models available to lease through the Scheme, with more than 75 of these at no Advance Payment, such as the Ford B-Max 1.6 Zetec, with dual sliding rear doors. Other automatic models available at no Advance Payment include the Volkswagen Polo 1.4 Match Edition, which features a rear parking sensor and cruise control, and the Nissan Note 1.2 Acenta, with steering wheel mounted audio controls.

Disabled people who receive either the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance, the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment, the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement or the Armed Forces Independence Payment can exchange their weekly payment to lease a new car through the Motability Scheme. Insurance, servicing, RAC breakdown assistance and replacement tyres are included in the cost of the lease.

A wide range of fuel efficient cars are also available to lease on the Scheme, such as the well-equipped Nissan Juke 1.5dCi Acenta, at no Advance Payment and the stylish MINI 1.5 Cooper, available at £99 Advance Payment. Small city run-arounds are also available to lease through the Motability Scheme, including the KIA cee’d 1.6CRDi 2, at £99 Advance Payment, and the comfortable, automatic Fiat 500L 1.3 MultiJet Pop Star MPW at £195 Advance Payment.

For families or those needing extra space, MPVs such as the Ford S-MAX 1.6TD Zetec and the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso 1.6e-HDi VTR+ are available to lease at £495 and £595 Advance Payment, respectively. The Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0TD S also features a spacious and flexible interior and is available at £799 Advance Payment.

Disabled motorists looking for a greener option can choose from more than 1,000 cars with CO2 emission levels of 120g/km or less, such as the stylish Volvo V40 1.6TD Cross Country SE, available at £299 Advance Payment. Further low emission options include the Vauxhall Insignia 2.0CDTi Design, which features hill hold control, at £399 Advance Payment, and the economical SEAT Leon 1.6TDI SE Technology Pack, available at no Advance Payment.

–           The family-friendly Toyota Auris 1.33 Icon, available at no Advance Payment
–           The Hyundai ix35 1.7TD S, featuring hill start assist control and remote central locking, is available at £299 Advance Payment
–            Firm favourite, the Volkswagen Golf 1.2 S, is available at £199 Advance Payment

There are also around 500 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) available to lease on the Motability Scheme, and over 450 adaptations to choose from, with more than 140 at no additional cost.
