Nine of the 10 top selling cars sold with the latest ‘13’ registration plate are available to lease through Motability, the leading car scheme for disabled people. The three most popular cars, the nippy Ford Fiesta, the economical Ford Focus and the family favourite, Vauxhall Corsa, are all available to lease from no Advance Payment, which means no additional up-front cost.
Also in the top 10 favourite cars and available to lease through Motability is the stylish Volkswagen Golf, available from £99 Advance Payment and the spacious Nissan Qashqai, available from £49 Advance Payment. Further options at no Advance Payment within the best-sellers are the Vauxhall Astra, the Volkswagen Polo and the Peugeot 208.
Far from avoiding what is considered by many to be an unlucky number, predictions of low uptake of the ‘13’ registration plate cars have been defied as thousands of motorists have taken new cars since the registration update earlier this year.
Anyone who receives the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance, the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment or the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement can exchange the weekly payment to lease a new car through Motability. Insurance, servicing, RAC breakdown assistance and replacement tyres are included in the cost of the lease.
