Invacare shows support for STOP Pressure Ulcer Day

Stop_pressure_ulcerInvacare is supporting the global ‘Stop Pressure Ulcer Day’ taking place on the 21st November 2013. This is a day focused on preventing pressure ulcers in which industry, healthcare professionals, the public and media come together to help raise awareness of what many people are touched by every year.

Pressure ulcers are costly to the NHS and debilitating and painful for patients. As the patient population most at risk of developing pressure ulceration – the elderly and those with multiple comorbidities – increases in size, so too could the incidence and cost of pressure ulceration. It is not surprising therefore that the prevention of avoidable pressure ulcers is a key aim for all clinicians and organisations currently delivering patient care.
