IN ASSOCIATION WITH HEREWARD COLLEGE

Hereward College is a general FE College in Coventry providing both day and residential places. We welcome all students including those with diverse and complex support requirements. In addition to residential students, day disabled and non disabled students also attend the College.

We promote an all-inclusive, broad and balanced curriculum, which provides all students with relevant and challenging learning opportunities. We are actively encouraging learners with disabilities and able-bodied students to work together in order to help personal development, improve social skills, build self-confidence, develop teamwork and support independence for both the disabled and non-disabled students. Feedback from students has shown us that they like the inclusiveness of the College population.

The college offers day and residential places and all the required support to learners with disabilities such as Autism, Aspergers, Downs syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Acquired Brain Injury, Learning Difficulties, Spina Bifida, Muscular Dystrophy, Fredericks Ataxia and many other disabilities.

Hereward College offers qualifications in the areas of the creative arts, media, drama and music; business studies, including office and retail skills; information technology for users and for technicians; and sport. Students also follow courses to improve their number skills and their reading, writing and communication skills. All of the courses are vocational courses, offered from entry level 3 to level 3 (A level equivalent) and these subjects are also covered at pre-entry and entry level  1 and 2 in Personal Presentation and Life Skills programmes.

Hereward also offers a ‘Transition to Independence’ programme, where a high focus is put on developing independence and confidence skills along with employability skills which will enable students to become productive members of society.
