Finding Your Feet launch auction to support people living with amputation

Leading amputee charity in Scotland, Finding Your Feet has launched their Stompingly Sensational Online Auction to raise funds towards providing vital physical and emotional support for amputees.

The auction sees a selection of celebrity donations collected by the charity over the years.

DONATION

About the auction, Cor Hutton, founder of Finding Your Feet, enthuses: “Throughout the years our charity has had some amazing endorsements and support from celebs.

“A small gesture can go a long way and we’re finally getting around to auctioning off some of the handprints we’ve received form famous Scots.”

Lots include handprints from Scottish celebrities such as Line of Duty star Martin Compston, Gerard Butler, Andy Murray – alongside a signed cap – plus, handprints and signature from charity founder Cor Hutton.

AMPUTATION

In 2013, Cor battled acute septicaemia, which saw her hands and lower legs being amputated. Now, Cor works as a motivational speaker whilst running Finding Your Feet to help support amputees during their journey.

Having adapted to using prosthetic limbs, in a landmark movement, Cor received a double hand transplant.

The first Scot to receive an operation of its kind. And you could be in with a chance of winning Cor’s new handprints through the action – all for a good cause.

“I’ve also been persuaded to do my own handprints – I can’t imagine anyone will want them but after five years with no hand s it was an empowering experience,” continues Cor.

“It also serves as a reminder of the gift I’ve been given by a donor, and extremely courageous family. I’ll never forget it, and I owe them a huge amount. They’ll always be with me as I do what I can to support amputees.”
