Savvy students at Hereward College in Tile Hill are planning a business enterprise event to be held at the college on 24 March.

Local businesses are being invited to visit Hereward College as guest speakers, working alongside the students, offering tips and advice to support them in seeking future employment. They will also provide opportunities for students to attend work experience and placements within their company. Visiting companies include Barclays and employment agencies.

The student group, named Inspire, was set up to forge links with the local work force and to enhance their employability skills.

Student and organiser Shannon Green said “I want to enable a good career in the future for myself and friends at Hereward College, so by setting up this event I am able to gain work experience and set up some useful link for the future, increasing my employability skills”.

Teacher Katy Saunders had this to say “It is essential that our students get the work experience needed to get a job in the future, this event put together by students will help them get the experience needed.”
