Celebs journey to Birmingham for charity awards

spinalinjuries#A host of celebrities, from stage, screen and sports, will be heading to Birmingham on 6 June to show their support for the Women in Spinal Cord Injury.

The Botanical Gardens, Birmingham, will host the very first Women in Spinal Cord Injury awards ceremony, a brand new event launched this year by the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA).

The Women in Spinal Cord Injury awards recognise the outstanding women who contribute to the treatment and care of spinal cord injured people across the UK, as well as celebrating the achievements of spinal cord injured people and law professionals.

The ceremony will be hosted by Gary Lineker, who along with his wife Danielle, has been a long term supporter of SIA. Danielle has said of her involvement “It is because of the help that my family received from SIA, that I am committed to supporting Women in Spinal Cord Injury, and joined the committee for the event”

Three shortlisted nominees, for each award category, have been invited to attend the event, which starts at 6.30pm with a champagne reception. The winners of all 16 awards will be announced by other SIA’s celebrity ambassadors, such as Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Sophie Morgan, Josie Pearson and Anna Turney, throughout the evening.
